Carrefour hires Publicis Groupe to handle advertising

France's Carrefour has returned to the Publicis Groupe for its commercial and corporate advertising needs. Paris-based Publicis plans to create an ad-hoc agency dedicated to the Carrefour account. Sources estimated the retailer's account is worth roughly $1 billion in terms of media expenditures each year.
