GAO puts EPA's Toxic Substances Control Act on "high risk" list

The Government Accountability Office has recommended that the Obama administration make the EPA's Toxic Substances Control Act a high priority, saying the agency has inadequate scientific information on the toxicity of many chemicals found in the environment. The GAO has put the TSCA on its 2009 "high risk" list, which names programs and policies that are at high risk for fraud, mismanagement, waste or abuse.
