Lawmaker: Comprehensive health reform may not pass this year

House Majority Whip James Clyburn, D-S.C., said comprehensive health care reform may not pass Congress this year, and he advocated an incremental approach to covering the uninsured. Clyburn said he supports expanding the State Children's Health Insurance Program and putting more money toward community health centers as a foundation for universal access to health care. Many other Democrats, however, see this year as a key opportunity to push through universal health care reform.
