McDonald's plans major expansion in Europe this year

While many retailers are struggling, McDonald's is planning a massive European expansion in 2009, according to a senior executive. The fast-food retailer plans to open 240 restaurants across Europe, while remodeling other locations. The European expansion is estimated to cost McDonald's about $1.1 billion.
