Providers cite rise in physical ailments linked to recession

Boston-area health care providers say the physical effects of the economic meltdown can be seen in patients who are gaining weight, having trouble controlling their blood pressure or glucose, and experiencing headaches, sick stomachs and anxiety. The chief of outpatient medicine at Boston Medical estimates at least half of all patient visits are linked to the economy.
