Researchers: Thimerosal in vaccine not harmful for children

A 10-year Italian study supports growing evidence that the vaccine preservative thimerosal is not harmful. Researchers conducted brain-function tests on 1,403 children who were given whooping cough vaccines with two different amounts of thimerosal 10 years earlier and found small differences in only two of 24 measurements. Only one case of autism was found, in the group that got the vaccine containing a lower level of thimerosal.
