US Airways to participate in FAA ADS-B trial

US Airways will retrofit its Airbus A330 fleet for automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast as part of a new FAA trial that will test the effectiveness of satellite-based navigation links in crowded Northeast and trans-Atlantic airspace. The FAA will contribute more than $6 million toward the cost of the equipment, which is manufactured by Aviation Communications and Surveillance Systems.
