Guidelines suggest Botox for youths with cerebral palsy

Botox may help treat spasticity and muscle tightness in children and teens with cerebral palsy, according to new guidelines from the American Academy of Neurology and the Child Neurology Society. The report said clinicians also could consider using tizanidine or diazepam for short-term treatment of spasticity but noted both carry risks.
