Hotel conservation efforts make an impact

Hotels often state very clearly their requests in rooms to reuse towels and linens, but travelers are often unaware of the impact of those measures. Marriott International says its linen-reuse program saves as much as 11% to 17% on water and water-treatment costs, and InterContinental Hotels says its towel-reuse program saves 199 million liters of water a year in the U.S.
