New York-based firm savors ties to Briggs and Stratton

Munnsville, N.Y.-based Ferris Industries, a subsidiary of Briggs and Stratton Power Products Group, has weathered the recession through employee dedication and support from the parent company, officials say. For example, when Briggs and Stratton closed a factory in Wisconsin, the company sent the production of its high-end lawn tractors to Ferris. The affiliation with Briggs and Stratton also gives Ferris better buying power because the firm can place orders as part of the group.
