Obama wants jobs created and discretionary spending frozen

U.S. President Barack Obama used his State of the Union address to call a boost in job creation and a five-year freeze on discretionary spending to reduce the federal deficit. "At stake is whether new jobs and industries take root in this country, or somewhere else," he said. Obama proposed increased spending for infrastructure, innovation and education while cutting tax loopholes, particularly for the oil industry.
