The demand for premium economy seating has been growing as more travelers forgo business- and first-class airfares for an upgrade within the economy class cabin. On most airlines, "premium economy can be downright swanky, with larger seats, upgraded food service over coach and privileges such as dedicated check-in lines, priority security screening, early boarding and expedited baggage handling," Scott McCartney writes.
