Kroger adds pets as pharmacy clientele

Kroger pharmacies are selling prescription drugs for pets, with some generics priced as low as $4 for a 30-day supply. Pet medications were once available primarily through veterinarians, but retailers including Kroger and Target are changing the market. Sixty-two percent of households have at least one pet, and spending on pets topped $50 billion last year, according to APPA.
