Open wide: Zoo's anaconda gets a physical exam

Tom Riddle, a 50-pound anaconda at the Franklin Park Zoo, underwent a physical exam this week, performed by veterinarian Eric Baitchman, director of veterinary services for Zoo New England. The snake was restrained by six team members while his organ systems were evaluated and blood was drawn for testing. Tom Riddle was calm throughout the procedure, and Dr. Baitchman said the reptile is in excellent physical condition.
