Should computer programming count as a foreign language?

Kentucky lawmakers are considering a bill that would allow students to use computer programming courses to fulfill foreign language requirements. Supporters of the measure say it will help support students' efforts to learn valuable job skills. "We've got to make room in the curriculum and in the electives to try and drive computer programming closer to the start of that student's high school studies," Sen. David Givens said.
