Biometrics grow despite privacy concerns

Companies are turning to biometrics to tighten security, reduce security costs and meet stricter laws introduced after Sept. 11, 2001. While the ACLU has raised privacy concerns, the technology is widely used in shipping, banks and hospitals. Some companies use biometrics to verify when workers clock in and out.
