J&J unit withdraws some balloon catheters

Johnson & Johnson subsidiary Cordis Corp. has voluntarily recalled some of its balloon catheters, including Dura Star RX and Fire Star RX, after the FDA determined that the devices could cause heart attack or death. The unit's spokesman said there were no deaths reported and the Class 1 recall did not affect its Cypher drug-coated stent.
