Yahoo! to keep focus on its own universe, not other brands

Yahoo! will no longer build branded interactive sites for marketers, because these "Brand Universes" don't fit with CEO Jerry Yang's vision of the portal as the "starting point" for consumer activity on the Web, according to this article. "We're going to focus on our core media assets at Yahoo!, which include news, finance sports and entertainment," spokesman Brian Nelson said.
