FDA experts seek Obama's help amid possible criminal inquiry

Nine FDA scientists who alleged that agency managers forced them to clear high-risk medical devices that did not undergo comprehensive testing said they may have become subjects of an FDA criminal investigation. In a letter to President Barack Obama, the experts requested swift intervention on the issue and offered a list of regulations that they say FDA officials breached. An FDA spokeswoman said she could neither confirm nor deny the existence of a criminal investigation.
