Financial crisis brings down Iceland's government

Iceland's government became the first to be toppled by street protesters angry about effects of the financial turmoil, including collapse of the nation's currency and banking sector. In the face of fierce public pressure, including regular street demonstrations, Prime Minister Geir Haarde and his Cabinet resigned.
