Gene DeWitt dies at 65

Leading media executive Gene DeWitt, founder of DeWitt Media and chairman and CEO of Optimedia, died Thursday of cancer at age 65. After heading media departments at BBDO and McCann Erickson, DeWitt founded DeWitt Media in 1984. It was acquired in 2000 by Publicis, and formed the core of Optimedia.
