Hard times prompt Google to boost ads, change standards

Google is trying to combat slower growth by launching ads on image search and its finance section, which previously didn't have marketing messages, and boosting the number and types of ads on YouTube. The online giant also has altered its standards to permit beer, wine and liquor ads to appear on its U.S. properties and gambling promotions on its U.K. site, according to this article.
