HHS official: Infection prevention a top priority

Reducing the number of health care-associated infections is a top priority of the HHS, Dr. Don Wright, HHS principal deputy assistant secretary for health, writes in USA TODAY. He cites the agency's success with several infection prevention programs, but says the HHS needs to develop a more comprehensive approach to controlling HAIs, one that involves more effective partnering with public and private sectors and optimal use of department resources.
