N.J. Senate panel approves bill for transparency in medical errors

The New Jersey Senate Health Senior Citizens and Human Services Committee has approved a bill that requires the health department to publicly identify hospitals that commit preventable medical errors. The measure would provide consumers with more safety information on hospitals and encourage hospitals to step up efforts to eliminate such mistakes, one of the bill's sponsors said.
