AVMA stresses importance of dental health in pets

Most people are unaware about how important dental health is to their pets despite the fact that periodontal disease is the most common health problem in cats and dogs and could lead to infections and even life-threatening conditions, said AVMA President Dr. Larry Corry. AVMA encourages "all dog and cat owners to regularly brush their pet's teeth and regularly see their veterinarian for checkups," Corry said.
