Coupon use jumped 27% in 2009, reversing a 17-year trend

For the first time in 17 years, coupon use in the U.S. grew in 2009, jumping 27% over the previous year. Transaction settlement provider Inmar said the change began in the fourth quarter of 2008 and led to redemption of 3.3 billion coupons in 2009, up from 2.6 billion in 2008.
