Google preps Nexus One update, denies Wal-Mart report

Google says it hopes to release a software update in about a week aimed at repairing 3G connectivity issues on its Nexus One smartphone. The company also rushed to deny a message posted on Wal-Mart's Web site that the retailer would sell the new handset. Wal-Mart later confirmed the mistake, citing a "technical error," after the story had begun to spread through the Internet.
