Many people with IBS don't seek medical care

About 10% of people have irritable bowel syndrome, but about half of people with classic IBS symptoms never seek medical treatment, one expert says. IBS occurs more commonly in women than in men and symptoms include abdominal pain at least three days a month along with loose stools or constipation.
