Technology-based service learning is focus of new program

A program being tested at six schools across the country has students using and learning technology as part of community service activities that are tied to the curriculum. Technology-based service projects include students refurbishing computers donated to schools, and students at one high school mentor and tutor students in urban areas. "Service learning is important because we're helping others, but we're also learning ourselves," one student said.
