Despite Q4 slip, JetBlue sees nearly 60% increase in 2010 profit

Fourth-quarter traffic grew 10.1% at JetBlue Airways, but net income fell 18% to $9 million as profits were eroded by a massive snowstorm and the rising cost of fuel. JetBlue says the Christmas blizzard in the Northeast cut revenue by $30 million, while fuel prices in the December quarter were 16% higher than the year-earlier period. For all of 2010, the company reported a profit of $97 million, up from $61 million in 2009.
