Feds push back exchange notification deadline for employers

The March 1 deadline for companies to inform their employees about the health insurance exchanges mandated by the Affordable Care Act has been postponed, federal officials say. Regulators say the information is likely to be available during the summer or fall, in advance of the exchanges' Oct. 1 open-enrollment kickoff. Regulators said they "are committed to a smooth implementation process including providing employers with sufficient time to comply and selecting an applicability date that ensures that employees receive the information at a meaningful time."
