Architect's vertical farming idea offers food for thought

A Belgian architect has a plan for making city living more sustainable by turning downtown high rises into self-sufficient vertical farms, complete with orchards, meadows and livestock. To get his idea off the ground, Vincent Callebaut is shopping around plans for a 132-story twin-towered urban farm called "Dragonfly," which he hopes to build on New York's Roosevelt Island, as well as a "farmscraper" in Shenzhen, China.
