Food manufacturers pledge to help save water

Twenty-one food manufacturers, including Cadbury Schweppes, Tate & Lyle and Nestle U.K., have signed up for an initiative by the Food and Drink Federation that aims to minimize carbon dioxide emissions and improve energy efficiency by reducing water consumption. "We want to raise the profile of water as a scarce resource. This is industry leaders working together to benefit themselves and the environment," an FDF official said.
