Arbitrators rule against Midwest flight crews

An arbitrator has ruled that Midwest Airlines did not violate labor agreements with flight attendants when it contracted with Republic Airways to operate Midwest Connect flights in exchange for $25 million in financing. In a separate action last week, an arbitrator dismissed a similar grievance filed by the Midwest pilots union. Midwest says it will rehire its flight crews -- at reduced salary -- after they have trained on Republic's Embraer 170 regional jets.
