AT&T shows unexpected iPhone gains

AT&T added 2.1 million net new customers to its wireless service in the fourth quarter, including 1.9 million iPhone 3G accounts, a result that surprised some analysts who had braced for the worst after Apple recently reported a 36% decline in iPhone shipments. The iPhone helped drive up revenue for Web browsing and video download 51% compared with a year earlier as total corporate revenue grew 2.4% to $31.1 billion and wireless revenue reached $11.5 billion.
