House passes $819 billion economic-stimulus bill

The House of Representatives voted 244-188 to pass an $819 billion economic-stimulus package that allocates $20 billion for incentives to encourage health care providers to use electronic medical records. The legislation would also provide temporary coverage to unemployed workers under Medicaid.
