Tennessee expands telemedicine project to rural areas

Tennessee this week expanded a telemedicine project, bringing a medical video network to 11 rural areas in the state and allowing pregnant women to consult electronically with obstetrics specialists in the event of a serious problem. Officials said the project will reduce costs and offer convenience to patients, and eventually may expand into other areas of care.
