California, Florida, Illinois win big with rail grants

California won the largest high-speed rail grant of the 31 states selected to share $8 billion in federal funding, with a $2.25 billion injection that will help build its planned Anaheim-to-San Francisco line. Florida came in second with $1.25 billion, while Illinois garnered $1.23 billion for a railway that will link Chicago with other Midwest cities.
