Los Angeles district unveils new school-performance report cards

Los Angeles schools officials have launched revised school "report cards" that will deliver information about school performance to parents. The reporting was changed amid concerns that the previous system only publicized the positive progress made by schools. The new reports will include data on the number of ninth-graders who advance to 10th grade, and student proficiency rates for those enrolled in magnet and other special programs.
