Papa John's bypasses the network to air Super Bowl commercial

Papa John's, which this month announced a Super Bowl sponsorship deal with the National Football League, will air a pre-halftime commercial during the big game. The chain is paying the NFL to air the spot rather than buying air time from CBS -- the company declined to reveal how much it paid for the time and would not confirm that the price tag was less than the network's asking price of $3 million for a 30-second spot.
