US Airways reports sharply lower loss, defers new aircraft deliveries

US Airways reported a 4.9% slide in fourth-quarter revenue as losses narrowed to $79 million, compared to a $543 million loss in the year-earlier period. The company met its earlier projection of a $2 billion cash reserve at the close of 2009 and said it was deferring most aircraft deliveries to reduce capital commitments for this year and the next.
