Apple releases iOS 6.1, fixes leaks, adds LTE to 36 carriers

Apple on Monday took iOS 6.1 out of beta and released the first significant update to the platform since its launch 16 months ago. The updated version patches 27 security holes and provides Long-Term Evolution support for an additional 36 iPhone carriers globally, Apple said. Other new features include the ability to buy movie tickets from Fandango through Siri as well as for iTunes Match users to download individual songs from iCloud.
