GOP governors, oil majors press U.S. for more LNG exports

ExxonMobil, Royal Dutch Shell, Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell and Wyoming Gov. Matt Mead have joined calls to authorize further exports of liquefied natural gas. "This surge in clean, domestic, affordable energy is stimulating local economies, creating millions of jobs, and enabling new opportunities," said Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell. The U.S. "can play an important role in the global LNG market," said Shell Americas' LNG operations Vice President Anders Ekvall, but "regulatory delays could allow this opportunity to bypass the United States."
