Most people's careers can be divided in to three phases, says Brian Fetherstonhaugh, the CEO of OgilvyOne. During the first phase, which lasts for about 10 to 15 years, your primary goal should be to cultivate lasting relationships and accumulate valuable experiences. The second phase is about differentiating yourself from others. And the third phase is about "passing the torch," Fetherstonhaugh says.
