Balloon gives N.C. students an inside view of geography

Pinehurst Elementary School students in North Carolina got an inside look at the world during a recent visit from the Earth Balloon. The students, who have been learning about ecosystems, geography, history and current events, were able to climb inside the 17-foot-tall and 22-foot-wide replica of the earth to look at the layout and typography of the planet based on NASA photos. The visit was sponsored by the school's PTA.
