Colo. professionals assist students in robotics competition

About a dozen high-school students from the Grand Junction, Colo., area are working alongside local scientists and engineers to build a robot for the regional FIRST Robotics competition. Students on the FIRST Team 4944 have spent time after school and on weekends designing the robot. "You get kids dealing with nitty-gritty, hands-on engineering problems," engineer and team mentor Chris Williams said.
