Amazon announces double-digit surge in Q4 revenue

Amazon.com Inc. reported that its profit climbed 9%, to $225 million, on revenue that increased 18%, to $6.7 billion, in the fourth quarter. The online shopping giant has been able to buck the economy's downward trend by aggressively opening new product categories and offering steep discounts and free shipping.
