AOPA: TSA Large Aircraft Security Program could devastate airports, communities:

Backed by more than 200 pilots from Western states, AOPA Airport Support Network volunteer Fred Fourcher testified at a hearing this month that the Transportation Security Administration's proposed Large Aircraft Security Program could harm airports and aircraft of all sizes. Fourcher said that in addition to hurting many general aviation airports, the proposal would devastate small communities that depend on local airports to attract business, and he called on the TSA to go back to the drawing board and create new proposed rulemaking that would allow better negotiations on the program's requirements.
