HRG report says average length of hotel stays declines

HRG UK says the average length of hotel stays by its customers fell from 1.9 nights to 1.5 nights last year. The travel management company says companies are working to scale back their travel budgets, which includes encouraging traveling employees to shorten their trips. Buyers should not, however, expect substantial discounts, according to Margaret Bowler, director of global hotel relations at HRG. "Contrary to what many may expect, hotels are not slashing prices," she said. "Instead, the majority are adopting a sensible long-term strategy to offer value rather than significant price cuts to maintain their share of the market."
