Public-private partnerships are central to stimulus plan

President Barack Obama's stimulus package includes funding to repair and modernize roadways as well as provide new mass transit. Public-private partnerships are central to the plan, and Obama has said he supports a National Infrastructure Bank that would evaluate infrastructure projects. Officials in the administration also hope the transportation reauthorization bill will create a framework for public-private partnerships.
